Question 3:
You play basketball for Sargent Park. You've scored 24 baskets over the 5 home games and 28 points over the past 7 away games. Now figure out your average points per game at home, your average points per game on the road, and your total average points.Do you score more baskets per game at home or away?

Question 3 answers: the estimate average is (50 ÷ 5 = 10). The real average is (48 ÷ 5 = 9.6. This is the answer because it says 24 baskets and each basket is worth 2 points, therefore there are 48 points in total. If you wanted to say 24 points instead of baskets then the estamate average is (25 ÷ 5 = 5). The real average is (24 ÷ 5 = 4.8)

For the away games the average is (28 ÷ 7 = 4). There is no estamate average because there is no decimal in the answer.

The total estimate average is (80 ÷ 12 = 6.66666666666666666666666666666667. The real average is (76 ÷ 12 = 6.3(repeated)). If you wanted to use 24 instead of 48 the your equation would look like this. (52 ÷ 12 = 4.3(repeated)).

If you wanted to know whether you scored more baskets per game at home or away and you were using the number 48 points for home and 28 points for away, then you would have scored more baskets per game for the home games. If you were using the number 24 points for home and 28 points for away then you would have scored more baskets per game for the home games.

Great answer team, I was really impressed by the thought that you put into evaluating the question two different ways.
